On the latest episode of Restoring Order, I embark on a deep dive into last night’s midterms bloodbath.
I begin by offering some preliminary thoughts on Trump’s second term. Paradoxically, it’s proven better and worse than his first. Next, I remind people that criticizing the Trump administration doesn’t necessarily make one a “panican.” I then review my position on the Iran war, about which I voiced concern early on. Later, I take a look at the damage. How many seats did we lose? I then take a look at the various explanations offered for this electoral decimation. Was it really the Iran war? What about tariffs? Immigration?
In the second half of the show, I continue my review of the factors that led to the GOP’s defeat. I discuss corruption (real or perceived) in the Trump administration, which voters did cite as a critical factor in supporting the Democrats. I then talk about how Trump lost the vibes battle. How much of that was his fault? Later, I examine JD Vance’s statement. Will he run in 2028? Maybe, but someone else definitely will: Ron DeSantis, who, after last night, appears to have landed in an advantageous spot. But can he really win? Toward the end of the show, I offer some limited white-pills. While voters rejected Republicans, they voted overwhelmingly for Republican policies. What should we make of this? Tune in to find out.
