On this week’s episode of Restoring Order, I cover Trump’s debanking executive order, the attack on the DOGE staffer in D.C., why Mr. Brightside is a terrible song, and the intersection of religion and politics on the right.
First, I review Trump’s executive order on debanking, explaining why it’s so necessary. I contrast debanking with other forms of deplatforming and argue that it is far worse. I then discuss the attack on Edward Coristine, otherwise known as Big Balls. I talk about crime in D.C. and Trump’s response. Toward the end of the first half, I explain why Mr. Brightside should be banned.
In the second half (available to subscribers), I dive into the religion topic. BAP recently argued that it’s time for the secular right to run things. What does he mean by that? Does he have a point? I also discuss some of the counterarguments people on Twitter responded with. I argue that both sides, despite their differences, are talking past each other since everyone involved in the debate likes Trump, who, in my view, strikes an ideal balance between religiosity and secularism. I then review the 2024 religious voting trends and overall trends in American religion. Has Christianity declined? Where are we headed as a country? Tune in to find out.
Note: I missed last week’s episode, so I’ll be sure to do an extra one before the month ends. Apologies!
