Mischling Mindset ft. Josh Rainer

Restoring Order - EP 378

Josh Rainer is a Twitter poster, podcaster, and event organizer. He joins me for a wide-ranging discussion on American politics, California, the search for identity, and more.

To begin, Josh recounts his red-pill story. As with many people, covid proved profoundly transformative for him. We talk for a bit about why covid wound up being a mass red-pilling event. Next, we discuss Spencer Pratt. I ask Josh if there was anything Pratt could have done to win. We then ponder why moderate liberals are averse to anyone and anything remotely conservative – even when they agree with some of the policies. Toward the end of the first half, we broach the mischling subject. Why is it that the “dissident right” has so many half-Jewish people? Josh has some thoughts.

In the second half of the show (available to subscribers), we continue our discussion of the mischling phenomenon. This leads to a broader exploration of deracination and the search for identity in modern America. We talk about religious converts and the role mental illness – if any – plays in shaping some of the more ridiculous identity crises you see on the internet. Toward the end of the show, I ask Josh about his views on health and fitness. He outlines some of the basics of Ray Peat’s program. But is peating really the end-all, be-all? Tune in to find out.
