Freedom and Decline ft. Bronze Age Pervert

Restoring Order - EP 327

I’m joined by legendary Twitter poster, writer, and podcaster Bronze Age Pervert for a sprawling discussion on his work, American politics, religion, and much more.

To begin, BAP recounts the origin of his posting career. I ask what Twitter was like before 2016, and how it has changed over the years. This leads to a consideration of whether the term “dissident right” is at all useful anymore. We then talk about how right-wing Twitter has gotten dumber in recent years. BAP calls a few people out. I ask him what advice he has for young men, leading to a discussion on political strategy. Is infiltrating institutions the right move? We then consider the “don’t go to college” meme that conservatives love to regurgitate.

In the second half (available to subscribers, you must SUBSCRIBE!), we shift gears to talk about BAP's book, Bronze Age Mindset. What inspired him to write it? This leads to a discussion on the role freedom plays in his thought. BAP gives us a history lesson on the origin of the warrior class in the Bronze Age and the uniqueness of Indo-European culture. After pondering what BAP will do after the show concludes – drink? read erotic literature? – we change topics to discuss religion. We explore the complex relationship between religion and politics, including the problem with do-nothing "Christian conservatives" who opposed Trump yet have him to thank for their biggest wins. Toward the end, we discuss President Trump and his significance. What would things be like without him? Tune in to find out.
