Ending Wokeness for Good ft. Nathan Cofnas

Restoring Order - EP 320

Dr. Nathan Cofnas is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. He joins me for a broad discussion of his ideas.

To begin, Nathan tells us about Cambridge’s attempts to cancel him. We then discuss why, in his view, conservatives have failed to effectively oppose wokeness. Nathan argues that hereditarianism is the only way forward. I then ask if leftists could accept hbd without altering their ideological framework. And what of normal people? Would the masses ever go along with hereditarianism? Switching gears, we discuss whether civil rights law is in fact the origin of wokeness. Nathan argues that it is not. Toward the end of the first half, we begin our consideration of what Nathan has termed “the right’s stupidity problem.”

In the second half, available to subscribers (link in reply), we continue our discussion of the right's stupidity problem. We then switch topics to the so-called "Jewish question." What is it? This leads to a discussion of Nathan's debate with Kevin MacDonald, and why both liberal speech restrictions and right-wing Jew obsession render a sober discussion of the issue difficult. Nathan argues that any political movement, right or left, that isn't explicitly anti-Semitic will attract Jewish people. We then consider the unique post-war historical circumstances that led American Jews to lean left on political and cultural issues. The show concludes with Nathan offering a few thoughts on the hereditarian revolution, which, he argues, "hasn't been tried."
