Covid Is Over...For Now
As restrictions lift across the Western world, we must remain vigilant.
With covid restrictions being lifted across the Western world, many have understandably arrived at the conclusion that covid is over. However, we shouldn’t be too hasty to announce the end of the pandemic. After all, the virus still exists, as does the power structure responsible for draconian lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccination requirements.
Here are a few pieces of evidence proving that covid restrictions are waning:
NYC recently ended mask requirements in schools and proof-of-vaccination requirements for most indoor activities
Other blue states such as Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Rhode Island have similarly announced plans to end mask mandates
Many European countries are lifting restrictions as well
Nevertheless, some restrictions still remain in place. In New York City, for example, 100 healthcare workers were fired on March 11 for failing to receive a second vaccine dose. (The full list of which restrictions are in place – and where – is too lengthy for the purposes of this article.)
So while we’re not fully free from the tyranny of covid mandates, the trajectory appears to be toward fewer restrictions. This is a positive development. With that said, a few things must be kept in mind.
